A Naturopathic Doctor is educated in all of the same basic modern medical sciences and conventional diagnostics as an M.D. but also studies holistic, natural and non-toxic approaches, such as therapeutic nutrition, homeopathy, acupuncture, Chinese medicine, hydrotherapy, phytotherapy, Ayurveda, etc.. In Germany a Naturopathic Doctor takes rigorous professional board exams and becomes licensed by the government as a primary care general practice physician.
